According to TVShowsOnDVD, this direct-to-DVD movie continuation of Dead Like Me will be released on 17th February next year (R1 date, at any rate). Also some nice box set art in that link!

The Dead Like Me movie is being made - that I knew a while ago - but the bad news is that it was made without Bryan Fuller's involvement. Suddenly I'm a lot more nervous about the movie.

The good news - the frakking series could get resurrected (excuse the unintentional pun) according to this SyFY Portal article!

WOOHOO! (now if I could actually believe that good news for one second, that would have been a much louder WOOHOO!)

The trailer for the Dead Like Me movie is available at Bloody Disgusting.com and it looks OK. There are some changes *SPOILERS*

and they are here. )

Now, it's not that I'm a detail-obsessed geek (ah, who the hell am I fooling? It's exactly because I *am* a detail-obsessed geek) that makes me point out that the "Komodo Dragon" in Dead Like Me S2e08 The Escape Artist is in fact a Lace Monitor.

I even have pictures. )

WOOHOO!

I bought Dead Like Me S2 today! WOOHOO!

According to Moviehole, MGM has confirmed that they are making a movie version of Dead Like Me. Having only recently discovered this wonderful series, I can only add another "WOO" to the other "HOO's" that have already been made. Now I just have see if they will release an R4 version of S2 - I am sure I saw both series in R4 format at one of the big chain stores a couple of years ago but S2 doesn't seem to be available any more.

(Thanks to TLO for the original link.)

I brought antiseptic wipes in this morning and inspected the keyboard/mouse/screens very carefully this morning before touching anything. There is no anonymous mucus (or, indeed, any named mucus) on any of them today, I am pleased to report. See, just when I get organised, there is no need! Still, this will be another obsession ritual check for the morning routine.

I never did check to see if anyone had licked my phone though. That's what I can use the antiseptic wipes for!

Just looked down at my keyboard - there's mucus all between the keys and across the desk - and it is NOT mine

OK, back now after a thorough wipe-down - definitely a sneeze, given the spray pattern. There were even a few globules on the bottom left corner of my right hand screen! A very DLM-moment I have to say - I just have to hope that whoever did it didn't lick my phone too!

As I watched the last 2 episodes of Dead Like Me S1 last night, who should I see but Jewel Staite as the goth girl that Mason has sex with in the record store! Bit of a change from her usual characters.

Finally managed to buy S1 of DLM on Saturday - for only AUS$31.87 (US$25.24). I have watched all but the last 2 episodes and I like it a whole lot. George's uninspired approach to life (and death) is wearying at times and yet there is that little spark that is ignited every so often - when she sees Reggie's "special" tree, when she finally "gets" Dolores, when she gets her strike in the office ten-pin tournament. It changes her from what is, after all, a fairly unlikeable character into someone I can feel empathy with (in many ways similar to Jaye Tyler of Wonderfalls, Bryan Fuller's "other" series but Jaye is funnier yet more frustrating in other ways to me). The stories are themselves reflective of a fairly bleak view of life yet there is always some kind of redeeming facet to every story. Great, great stuff. Now I just have to wait until they put S2 out cheap too!

I also scored the BSG mini-series for AUS$12-87 (US$10-19) - the last time I saw it it was AUS$32 - for a single frakking disc!

I'm off to watch that but first I will finish off the last 2 episodes of DLM
