Had my molar pulled today - long story but there was nothing else left to do but lose it. Probably one of the most painful extractions I've ever had but there you go. Really quite sore now - the anaesthetic has well and truly worn off.

Yes, I do indeed have conjunctivitis so it is eye drops and blurry vision for the next few days. The doctor also took an eye swab (there's another thing I can cross off my "It was never on my bucket list any way and, now that I have done it once, it's certainly not going to get added to that list" list) because we are "in the midst of an epidemic of viral conjunctivitis" (his exact words). If it does turn out to be viral, there will be some new eye drops and tablets to take. YAY!

ETA: having used the drops twice today, the eye does feel slightly less irritated so maybe it is just bacterial?

Woke this morning with my right eye on fire (metaphorically) and got told all day that my eye looked like crap. It got worse as the day wore on so I think it's off to the doctor for me tomorrow.

7/10 (0 being "Mucous? What's that?" and 10 being "Help me, I'm drowning in green m- .....") - actually seems to be easing a little today. Let's hope a good night's sleep knocks the edge off it.

8/10 (0 being "Mucous? What's that?" and 10 being "Help me, I'm drowning in green m- .....") - just to add to the joy, I've pulled a muscle in my back so every time I cough that spasms too! YAY!

7/10 (0 being "Mucous? What's that?" and 10 being "Help me, I'm drowning in green m- .....") - had to grab some stuff from the chemist today as I could barely catch my breath.

Damn flu - or more precisely, damn nausea!

Went to get my eyes tested today - had to do the full array (glaucoma, macular degeneration etc) so I had to have those weird eye-drops. I'll never get used the numb eyelids effect from those drops. Had to sit in the food court for about half an hour afterwards to get focus back in my eyes but the tingling has only gone in the last hour or so.

The tooth that had been causing all the trouble over the last few days was completely pain free this morning when I brushed my teeth but I went anyway. Just as well, because the reason it was pain-free was because it was dead, deceased, an ex-tooth etc.

So one tooth less in my head, 25 minutes later and $279 poorer (hell, that's a pay rate of $11.16 per minute or $669.60 per hour!!!!!), I walked out of the dentist. Having said that, the dentist was one of the most competent and pain-free that I have ever had. Other than the pain of getting the injection in my palate, it was absolutely pain-free. Of course, it's a bit sore now but not too bad, all things considered.

Since waking up at about 3.30am on Saturday morning with a really sore tooth, I've been reduced to drinking lukewarm drinks and eating soft food. Tomorrow was the earliest I could get into the Dentist. Let's hope it is nothing major or structural - because it sure is as sore as hell now!

Damned head cold!

I've got really bored with this infection - now down to a crappy head cold but the continued nausea is really aggravating. Go away, already!

Not only did staying home from work not help me feel any better but I feel even worse this evening - hot and cold chills thrown in for good measure!

I didn't go to work today, in the hope that a rest would make some difference. It hasn't yet.

Whatever zapped me on Sunday just came hurtling back with a vengeance. I'm going to retreat to bed and see if a good night's sleep helps at all.

I retreat

I have been wrestling with this all morning but I think I just lost - my stomach, I swear, just did a double somersault in the pike position or it it felt like that at any rate! I think I'm going to go back to bed and try to weather this.

Yesterday's flare up of my diverticulitis has gone already. I am really happy the pain has gone so fast - usually it takes a while on the low residue diet before it works. Given it was so fast, I am wondering if it was something very specific that triggered it - but I am at a loss as to what. Still, it's gone and that's all I really care about.

Over the last 3 days, my diverticulitis has really flared again - not sure why and I'm feeling no nausea despite the pain. Back to the low-residue diet for a few days again, I guess.

I got some ginger tablets on Saturday to try to combat the nausea I've been experiencing for the last few weeks. It worked very well so today I didn't take any just to see if the improvement was coincidental - it wasn't because I feel like crap now. I took a tablet when I came in form work but it hasn't quite kicked yet - once it does, all will be well again (I hope).
