Finally (sort of .....)
Dec. 13th, 2014 10:48 pmFinally got Season 2 of Utopia ( this one, not that one) from JB Hi-Fi. I ordered it in October when it orignally came out, then waited three weeks, only to find they had lost the original order. I ordered it again, along with sesaon one of the same series which they also didn't have despite it coming out in January this year! Sadly, season one still wasn't in.
It is most unlike JB's as they are usually really good with ordering.

Excellent news
Mar. 19th, 2013 11:29 pmNot sure if I am late to this whole thing but the Veronica Mars movie is happening?
WOOHOO!
( and a wonderful video to go with it. )

Are they trying to make this fail?
Dec. 22nd, 2012 03:57 pmJust discovered that The Almighty Johnsons S2 is on all this week, sometimes double episodes - but no advertising, no trailers, no nothing. I swear they have no interest in getting people to watch this wonderful series. I've missed the first two episodes already but at least I can watch from Episode 3 onwards tonight.
Nearly forgotten about this one
Sep. 1st, 2012 04:01 pmJust stumbled across the box set of Falling Skies - Season 1 at JB HI-Fi - buried on Foxtel as this one was, I had forgotten that it was once on my "To Watch list". I hope it's OK, given that I am going to watch the series for the next day or so!
Despite being unable to find any kind of release date for it, I stumbled across The Almighty Johnsons S1 today at JB HI-FI. I loved the series when it was on but I misssed the first two episodes so it was really great to find this boxset.
I really hope they make a second series.

Holy crap!

Dollhouse starts on Eleven at 9:30pm on Monday 11th June 11!
Finally!
And just one last sentence that ends in an exclamation point - I am *that* excited!

Jan. 29th, 2012 11:29 pmMedium meets House meets The Mentalist meets utter boredom. A resounding no from me so far. I will watch for a few more episodes just in case a character that I actually care about pops up but so far the signs aren't good!
Movie Review: Unbreakable
Jan. 28th, 2012 10:22 pmI felt highly distracted during this movie - as soon as I saw that it was Bruce Willis and M. Night Shyamalan, all I could think was "If they find that he really did die in the accident and this is all some kid's strange perception of dead people, I am going to be so very pissed."
Ignoring that side of things, the movie really was quite good with Willis doing some of his best acting (that I've seen) and Jackson being suitably enigmatic right to the final brilliant moments. Overall, a thrilling movie with at least two outstanding scenes - the kitchen gun scene (I really wasn't sure where that one was going to go, right to the last second) and the pool cover scene (the sense of terror and helplessness was spot on the mark).
In the end, a damned good movie, probably the best of Shyamalan's movies that I've seen.

And again?
Jan. 26th, 2012 10:37 pmHaving watched Burn Notice for the first time in ages yesterday, who should I see today when I turned the television on but Jeffrey Donovan in Spin City!
Burn Notice S05e06
Jan. 25th, 2012 11:47 pmIt is a long time since I have got to watch a new episode of Burn Notice on TV (because the TV is playing up on all the HD channels!) so actually getting to see this episode was a real bonus. Good episode and I enjoyed it a lot but I have two observations:
1) What the hell is with Jeffrey Donovan's hair? That new style looks weird on him and
2) I loved the continuing reference to yoghurt, specifically blueberry in this episode - and the self-referential joke about it.

A question occurs to me
Dec. 19th, 2011 10:35 pmIf, according to Adam Savage,
B(Beer) + S(Science) = G(Good)
then B = G - S.
I don't think that's right, somehow ......
