Just looked on the Supanova Perth guest list - James Marsters, Morena Baccarin and Sean Maher!

WOOHOO!

If I can get signatures from Morena Baccarin and Sean Maher, that means that my Serenity Those Left Behind HC will only need 5 more signatures for a full set! I can dream on, I know!

I wonder if I should get James Marsters to sign my Spike: After the Fall HC?

Comic Book Resources carries news of a new Tales of the Vampires one shot whilst Buffyfest has news of three (yes, three) new Angelverse series: one indefinite length Spike series, courtesy of Brian Lynch (who so gets Spike's voice and character so YAY!), a two-part Dru story (YAY!) courtesy of Brain Lynch and ..... wait for it ..... Juliet Landau (YAY!, YAY! and a final YAY!) and a Gunn one-shot, also couryesy of Brian Lynch.

THREE! WOOHOO!

According to Lynch's blog, he's just put the finishing touches to #17 (and final issue). I've enjoyed the series so far (and the Spike: ATF spinoff arc too). I hope Lynch does more AtS stories - judging by the poll on his site, it may well be more in the vein of Shadow Puppets or Asylum. I enjoyed both of those stories to, largely because Lynch can really nail Spike's voice so well but the stories were damn good fun too.

Went to my two favourite shops whilst in Perth today. From Quality Comics, I got BtVS S8 Issue 18 (Jeanty variant cover), AtS: ATF Issue 12 (Garner variant cover) and BtVS Omnibus #5. From Empire Toys, I got Spike ATF Issue 3 (Sharp Brothers variant cover) and AtS: ATF Vol 2 HC, but sadly no Volume 1 so I put that on order.

Plenty of reading to do in the next few days! WOOHOO!

There are 5 preview pages available at Newsarama

Managed to get to Perth today and hang around my favourite stores. First up was Quality Comics where I bought BtVS S8 #17 (Jeanty variant cover) - sadly no Chen covers left - and AtS: ATF #11. Then it was onto Empire Toys where I got Spike: ATF #1 and #2 (no link because the IDW site is such crap!) which was very nice, only then to stumble across the real gem: Runaways: Dead End Kids HC. WOOHOO! Plenty of reading to do in the next few days.

I have already posted the covers for these but Comics Continuum has the solicitations for IDW for October and the descriptions amuse me, particularly the Spike one

and they are both here. )

Great news from Comic Book Resources - two, yes, you read right, TWO - new Angel series will be coming from IDW, once ATF is done.

The first series will be Angel: Aftermath (coming in 2009) "which will further continue Angel's struggles". The second series is Angel: Blood and Trenches (also coming in 2009) "about Angel's exploits during World War I". Despite what the article says, Lynch has confirmed that he won't be writing it. That's a shame because I have enjoyed ATF so far. No word about who is writing or drawing it yet, though.

Covers for AtS: ATF #14 and Spike: ATF#4

Over at RyallTime, there are two sketches by none other than John Romita Senior (and even I know, in my state of comic book ignorance, that he's a *big name*). He's doing variant covers for AtS: ATF #11 and Spike: ATF #3 and I assume these are not the covers themselves

but here they are anyway. )

RyallTime has a page from this issue - actually, I think it is a 2-page spread

and it's right here. )

Brian Lynch has posted the colour version of the cover for this issue and it is pretty to the nth degree.

Not only that, it's right here. )

Ryall Time has Franco Urru's cover for this issue

and it's here. )

The cover for this issue has been posted at Brian Lynch's new blog.

YAY! One less reason to go to MySpace. Now, if we could just persuade Nathan Fillion to move too, I'd have no more reasons.

The cover's back here. )

Brian Lynch has posted Urru's variant cover for this issue on his MySpace page
