First piece of sliverware in far too long - we won the Carling Cup!

WOOHOO!

I had my first full (Naval Battle Groups) game of Dystopian Wars tonight - and I really did enjoy it. I was very impressed by the 8x4 water board that Dave made - it looked so good!
Battle report follows. )

Latest episode is here - now this I get - a goal at last!

'The Big Bang Theory' reimagined as 'Firefly' crew - I think the casting is about right although Penny and Amy might be better swapped over?

I played my first game of Carcassone tonight at PAGS - great fun and I really enjoyed it. I did fairly well for most of the game but really got cleaned up in the final count. Clearly, there is some smart strategising near the end to make sure that as many incomplete elements are claimed so there should as many markers out on the board as possible near the end.

Sounds like Disney is already worried about John Carter (and it should be of Mars, I don't care what the marketing gurus reckoned), a month before it has even appeared in cinemas.

*sigh*

Latest episode is here - I ..... uh ..... well ..... umm?

Reboot of The Munsters - in process (and since renamed to Mockingbird Lane) perhaps with some hitches, according to Spinoff Online!

A remake of Space: 1999? Yes, says Spinoff Online. I can only hope it is better than the original (as in the BSG remake) because, even for its time, the SFX were naff and the acting even worse!

Sometimes I watch a movie and wonder "What is this movie about?", other times I wonder "Why did the characters do that?" and yet other times I wonder "What the hell am I doing watching this movie?"

This movie is the third kind. Let me put it another way - when the portal misfires and takes them back to an apparently prehistoric dimension, I cheered because I would never have to meet these characters ever again!

Combining two flavours of the month - the shaky cam perspective and the superhero deconstruction - this movie could have been a disaster.

*SPOILERS* follow. )

According to Rabid Doll, World War Z could turn into a trilogy is the first one does well enough. Let's hope!

The latest page is here - I'm never quite sure what to make of this webcomic but those first two panels are certainly food for thought.
