I went to eat at Nando's in the CBD today, having run some long and boring errands in Duncraig. There on the menu is another new flavour - mango & lime. Never let it be said that I wont try new flavours - so I did. Not bad, given that I thought it might be too sweet with the mango in there. Instead, it was the lime that was dominant so this was tangy and light with just a bit of the mango flavour. Definitely worth having again.

A sequel to the The Inbetweeners movie?
Apparently so!

Nando's has a new flavour - Churrasco BBQ! When did this happen?

Not sure if I am late to this whole thing but the Veronica Mars movie is happening?

WOOHOO!

and a wonderful video to go with it. )

Continuing to impress me, Spartan Games followed up their Tanks, Tanks And More Tanks announcement with release of the first wave of those figures on 3rd April. Two of the CoA tanks are in that first wave and I like both descriptions:

and are behind the cut. )

Spartan Games just showed the latest wave of ground force releases for Dystopian Wars. Looks impressive - and a few suitably wacky designs to keep the fun element going!

I'm not entirely sure which nation has which model - although the "flying squid" is pretty damn obvious - so my guess for CoA is for #9 (Orpheus Class Drone Controller), #11 (Skorpios Class Heavy Bombard) and #24 (Janus Class small walker). The Janus could be quite interesting because it looks like it has some kind of energy weapon there - somewhat like the Fresnel. It is possible that #16 (Colossus Class Small Robot) may also be CoA but I'm not so sure.

It will be interesting to see the stats once they become available.

Finallly got to have lunch at the recently opened Yogi Contemporary Indian Restaurant - had the goat curry and it was perfection on every count. Beautiful atmosphere and attentive service made it a memorable meal. I'll definitely be going back again.

Merry Xmas

This movie is such appropriate viewing on Xmas Eve - but don't do it. It is an utterly run-of-the-mill horror movie - a group of young people trapped in a inescapable location where the spirit of a deranged serial killer roams about doing ..... well ..... deranged serial killer type things.

*yawn*

Just discovered that The Almighty Johnsons S2 is on all this week, sometimes double episodes - but no advertising, no trailers, no nothing. I swear they have no interest in getting people to watch this wonderful series. I've missed the first two episodes already but at least I can watch from Episode 3 onwards tonight.

Had my molar pulled today - long story but there was nothing else left to do but lose it. Probably one of the most painful extractions I've ever had but there you go. Really quite sore now - the anaesthetic has well and truly worn off.

Another zombie movie - but looks quite funny. I like the "almost conversation".

I grabbed a copy of this movie for JB Hi-Fi today and watched it as soon as I got home. I can't say that I like CGI movies as a whole, but, that aside, this wasn't too bad. Much more like the original MI from the book rather than the very lightly armoured infantry of the movies to date. The plot was obvious - bugs have a plan, MI foil plan by the skin of their teeth and the bugs lose yet again but it wasn't badly executed for all that. The advantage of CGI is that the scale of the movie can be truly grand and this one certainly took advantage of that. The real measure is that, if they make another one of these, I'll buy it.
