Caprica trailer available

The trailer is up at SCI FI Wire and it looks promising. The look is still a little disconcerting - I was expecting more of SF look rather than the 50's retro look. However the acting looks good, the script sounds tight and premise sounds interesting (still).

Your right, it looks promising but very different than BSG which is understandable. I'll be interested to see what life was like on the colonies.

I suspect that being "derived" from BSG may be a real bug bear because people will tune in expecting something much more science fiction-y. Still, I'm quite intrigued by the idea.

That's true. It looks a lot more family/political orientated. Not a bad thing necessarily but they already have a built in scifi audience.

That whole "family/political orientated" is a selling point for me because I think that that could become wonderfully warped and twisted in Moore's hands! For others? - I'm not sure if people will turn off before they even give it a chance. My friend still won't watch BSG because of the trauma of the 80's version which he remembers all too well! I'm thinking of strapping him to a chair with his eyelids propped open and forcing him to watch the mini-series at least!
