28 Days of Lunch: Day sixteen (24th October)

We hadn't made a good stew for ages but decided to make some the previous night. Of course, given my obsession with rice, I had to put the stew on a bed of rice. I'm sure that will get people from both hemispheres twitching in their culinary traditions but I love the combination. I added a whole pile of cracked pepper too. And a banana - separately, of course, not in the stew!

Looks like a lovely stew - and I like stew over rice, especially for lunches to take to work.

It was, a lovely rich thick gravy made it just right. I am glad I have found another rice aficionado! Most people here just assume mashed potato is the only option.
