Nice view

I was at a conference at the Maritime Museum in Fremantle today. This was the view from the conference room window


This is one of those big container ships leaving the port - the grey edge is the edge of the balcony:


and this is another shot (of the same boat) just to give you an idea of the size of it:


With that view outside, I found it quite hard to concentrate on the speakers!

Canada Place is large. It's the Trade and Convention Centre as well as having a hotel, with a restaurant at the "prow" on one level, and an IMAX theatre on the top level. It can actually fit two large cruise ships (end to end) on the west side and I think only one on the east.

That is big - the picture gives some idea but not quite on that scale!
