Just started reading the Fray TPB again and it reminded of just how amazing this story is. In one way, I am glad I came late to this because, if I had been collecting the individual issues (with all the delays that that included in Fray's run) I think I would have gone nuts.

That said, I read this especially slowly tonight, looking at each frame individually and examining each part of its components. How you can get everything to happen in such perfect timing, time and time again is just beyond me. There is not a word wrong, not a line out of place, not a colour mismatched - everybody puts it on the line every time and it pays off every time!

It was such a shame that we only got this and the 6-page "Tales" in the Tales of the Slayers TPB. Given the ending of "Tales", it would have been wonderful if we could have seen Melaka being particularly guided by the Watcher's Diaries of one Rupert Giles!

Better still - where is the live action version of Fray? Forget Wondy and Goners, Joss, get to this! And cast Kristen Bell as Fray - ever since [livejournal.com profile] electrcspacegrl suggested her, I haven't been able to see anyone else in that role!

WorldCon could be coming to Australia, Melbourne to be precise, in 2010 if this campaign works like it should. I am already impressed by the campaign, even if it is just by their sense of humour and general fun approach to things (although I get the impression the bid itself is deadly serious!)

I really hope this gets off the ground - having gone to Tabula Rasa 2005 in Melbourne, I can only say that that was the best fun I have had in a very long time. Of course, that was helped by the fact that Melbourne rocks anyway and that I was staying with two of the coolest people on this planet - Paul and Lucie.

Seeing David Fury, Tony Head and James Marsters might also have had a little something to do with it too!
