I can't say I get the Halloween thing at all and the point of pumpkin carving just escapes me, in the main. but these two are particularly impressive - a Serenity one and a Lost one! Both fairly amazing in their own right! Kudos to both artists (carvers? - what do you call a craftsperson of the pumpkiny persuasion?)

I guess I am strange because I love when I get stuff like this in my inbox:

Hello,

I am Mrs. Grace Khan from Cotonou Benin Republic.I am married to Mr. Peter
Khan who worked as the financial Director United nation Development on
Africa for more than Ten years before he died in the year 2002. We were
married for eleven years without a child. He died after a brief illness
that lasted for only four days. Before his death we were both God's
Believers.

Since his death I decided not to remarry or get a child outside my
matrimonial home which is against God. When my late husband was alive he
deposited the sum of 16.8 million usa (Sixteen million eight hundred
thousand United State Dollars ) is in the bank in my name at United
Kingdom.Presently, this money is still with the bank Recently, my Doctor
told me that I would not last for the next Eight months due to cancer
problem.

The one that disturbs me most is my stroke sickness.

Having known my condition I decided to keep this fund in the bank United
Kingdom.

I want an organization or an i ndividual that will use some percentage for
orphanages, widows and helping the destitudes. I took this decision because
I don't have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives
are not believers and I don't want my husband's efforts to be used by
wicked people.

I don't want a situation where this money will be used in an ungodly way.
This is why I am taking this decision. I am not afraid of death hence I know
where I am going.

I don't need any telephone communication in this regard because of my ill
health hence the presence of my husband's relatives around me always. I
don't want them to know about this development. All things are possible. As
soon as I receive your reply I shall inform the financial firm in United
Kingdom that you are the beneficiary of the said consignment you will need
to go and claim this fund in United Kingdom. I want you and the
organization to always pray for me.

My happiness is that I lived a life of a worthy believer. Any delay in your
reply will give me room in sourcing another person for this same purpose.

Please assure me that you will act accordingly as I stated herein. Hoping
to receive your reply and Remain blessed.

Yours in christ,

Mrs Grace Khan

Let's all sing now: "Spam, spam spam spam", next verse same as the first, "Spam, spam spam spam", chorus "Wonderful spam, glorious spam", and once more, with feeling, "Spam .......

Had dinner last night at Bambino's (next to the Rocky movie house) before going into the movies. Clearly, I was in a pizza mode because the starter was pizza bianca and main was pizza mexicana. The bianca was very nice - crispy, very salty and with just the right combination of garlic, olive oil and herbs! The mexicana - well, where do I begin? It was the biggest "small" pizza I have seen in a long while and the topping was thick and rich with flavour and texture: jalapenos by the fistful, wafer thin slices of spicy sausage and a screaming hot chilli sauce on the base. In short, perfection! Just the thing to eat before seeing The Grudge 2!

This movie frightened the crap out of me (but then I am an utter wuss) but was enjoyably frightening.

First check of the watch - NEVER.

Because I can't do these things spoiler-free, the review is behind the cut )
