The Inside 8 & 9
Jun. 24th, 2007 10:06 pmJust finished watching Aiden and Little Girl Lost and I continue to be impressed by this series.
It is good to get another couple of episodes that focus strongly on team members, namely Paul and Rebecca respectively. I think that Aiden really decides it for me - Web picks these cases for their impact on team members because why else would the team be investigating the killing of a pregnant woman which, although very disturbing in its form, was in no way a serial killer's work?
Still, both episodes got their main protagonist further down the path to recovery - Paul can at least face the issue of the loss of his unborn child and Rebecca can draw some strength from past experiences. Ironically, even though Web forces members of his team into some appalling positions, there is almost good intent in what he does here - and then I just wonder if the good effect is accidental. In the same way that he pushed Margaret Alvarez (but there with tragic consequences), he pushes both Paul and Rebeccca and both are "better" for - or that just makes his team better so that Web can take more credit. Damn, levels within levels within levels within ...
I loved the twist at the end of Little Girl Lost - I didn't see that coming at all, the mislead that it was the youngest daughter of the abducted family completely fooling me (again!!!) On a completely different note, I also liked the moments between Paul and Karen, exactly because it was so quiet and understated.
