I want to like this show, I really do, but it's still ordinary for me. This episode did seem to loosen up a bit - Jason O'Mara cracked at least two facial expressions (but sadly Stephen Lang only managed his usual single quizzical/sneer thing). At least there was an explanation as to why the camp was attacked by the DotW (Dinosaur of the Week) as opposed to insane ravening blood lust that every other dinosaur seem to show.

Better? Yes.
Good? No.

I will give it two more episodes.

Just in case I was being unfair about the two episodes, I just watched them again - no, regardless of how much praise other people are heaping adulation on them, they are still dreary, barely watchable crap. Still, I'll watch another three episodes, just to be fair.

I have waited so long for this series and finally it was here. And I was so disappointed - I had always worried that, in the midst of gorgeous location, great special effects and pretty actors, they would forget plot. I was wrong because plot made it - but characterisation didn't. A less engaging bunch of people it would be hard to imagine. Stephen Lang and Jason O'Mara are so wooden it is painful and I am well over the bunch of teenagers that appear to be sub-plot. Bored now!

Terra Nova )

Terra Nova has returned to Queensland, apparently. Just to put it into context, I had no idea they had left!

According to CraveOnline, there is chaos on the shoot for the Terra Nova pilot. Seems that several intersecting errors have ended up with a pilot that is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay short.

This line may a give a clue:
it lays the blame for the series' troubles mainly on the fact that it has an astounding 13 executive producers

13 bosses? It is every employee's nightmare!

My first look at the trailer - looks good and acting looks OK. I'd like to see more before I got too excited

but here's the trailer anyway. )

Most of the writers for Terra Nova given the push? It seems so! Now this may well be a cost-cutting exercise as the article mentions but it means that the assembled team are broken up and whatever synergy and creativity had been generated is now dispersed. It would appear that they want to hire the writers back again but will they all wait around for that? Chances are, it will be another new team of writers who have to start all over again.

You know, Bonogin, where Terra Nova will be filmed - yes, of course, *that* Bonogin!

According to Deadline, David Fury has left Terra Nova, citing the classic creative differences. Hmmmm .....

Terra Nova will be shot in Queensland, according to Airlock Alpha. I guess that means that David Fury may be working in Australia, then?

According to Airlock Alpha, Fox (SUCKS - sorry reflex response still!) has delayed the start of Terra Nova until 2011, debuting in the autumn ratings block rather than as this year's mid-season start. Let's hope the wait is worth it, rather than cold feet on the network's behalf.
