Whilst in Perth, it is now my favourite lunch spot - Burger Edge and I went for my favourite Mexican burger again. Just as nice as last time and, if anything, even bigger than I remember it. Very nice lunch, indeed.

..... but not too much. I only bought the Dystopian Wars Core Rulebook and Dystopian Wars Deck of 52 Game Cards from Tactics today.

I considered buying some of the Battle Groups but managed to resist ..... just!

Having now read most of the book, I think I'm going to plunge in. The rules look OK, if a little confusing at times, but the book itself is beautifully illustrated and well-made. The minis, now that I got to have a closer look at them in the store, are even nicer and more detailed than I thought.

This kind!

I have been looking at some of the wonderful miniatures for Dystopian Wars. I am sorely tempted but I'm not sure my pocket could sustain a third game system (after 40K and SST).

I might have a look around in Perth tomorrow to see if anywhere local sells them though, you know, just in case .....

The latest page is here - not getting any better for Brand.

The latest page is here - I've said it before, I'll say it again "RUN!"

Another gem of an episode - Wilfred's utterly fickle attachment to the satisfier of his immediate needs reached breakneck speed in this episode.

Wilfred's repeated use of the "Your tone says insult, but what I'm hearing is ....." cracked me up every time. The ending was just a work of art - Ryan really is just like his mother, just not in the way he thought!

The latest page is here - this is looking worse for Brand by the moment.

There is a blurb, variant cover and six preview pages at CBR

and they are here too. )

My current discovery - Cherry Ripe Dark Cherry. Just perfection but hard to find at times!

Just finished reading A Dance with Dragons for the third time. Sadly, my conclusion is that this book is indulgent - Martin needs an editor to reign him in. The book could have been half the size (i.e. lost about 750 pages) and not lost anything important. Indeed, it may well have gained something back - momentum. The more I read the book, the worse it got - and I think it is unlikely that I will buy #6.

Sad, really because I loved this series - #1 was wonderful and thrilling but the series has slowed and lost focus as it has gone on.

This time it is the Praetor Armoured Assault Launcher - I don't even play Guard but I want one of these!

The latest page is here - looks like the tables just got turned on Brand!

Just finished watching this episode - Wilfred in full flight is something to watch. Being "possessed" by Sneakers, Wilfred is even more ingratiating than usual and yet he uses this to work so hard on Ryan and Kristen's "issue" that it just becomes hilarious.

I think Wilfred's approach is summed up by this quote: "Anger is like herpes: You're not meant to keep it to yourself".

The latest page is here - Brand better get a move on if that Nong isn't going to out-manoeuvre him!

Went to the NAIDOC celebrations today (yes, weeks late, I know, let's not talk about that, OK?) and had some lemon myrtle custard tarlets. Holy crap, what a taste - just so spot on that I had to have "several"!
