Watchmen as it could have been

Fascinating article at CBR about the almost-incarnation of the story from production designer Dominic Watkins on the Paul Greengrass version of the movie. It sounds like they were just weeks way from committing to the movie with almost everything bar the construction of the major sets done. From the looks of the pictures, the visuals would have been very different form Snyder's and quite different form the book's images. For whatever else Snyder did or didn't do with the movie, I felt it at least looked like the book.
