You're probably in the final stages of a Ph.D. or otherwise finding a way to make your living out of reading. You are one of the literati. Other people's grammatical mistakes make you insane.

Funnily enough, I have long since surrendered to the Forces of Ungrammariness! See, I can distort the language too!

Otherwise the rating is about right - if I buy two or three books of a series at the same time, I *have* to read them in the order I get them out of the bag. Sick and twisted, but there you go! Fortunately the local store that I buy most of my stuff at knows me well - they put the books in the bag in the right order and even write a little black "F" on the front of the bag (they have those bags with identical logos on both sides) so I know which way to open the bag. They will even put a little packing in the bag if they have only got big bags when I buy paperbacks so the books can't move and go out of order. They treat me very well - mind you I think they expanded the shop solely out of the profits they made from me! Same owner for the last 14 years too, so that's good for continuity of service and consistency.

Okay, I'm not quite that compulsive. As you know I came off as dedicated reader, but I also have a problem with other grammatical errors, especially in people who should know better ;-)!

Kudos to your local bookstore - that sounds like a great place!

It really is great and it is just a branch one of those national "clone" stores that usually has absolutely no personality. Having the same owner for so long has helped, I think. I suspect he is also a good boss to work for because his staff turnover is very low, In addition, he seems to employ people who actually know about books and authors because they can actually give knowledgeable answers a fair proportion of the time. He has an excellent ordering service too, far better than other branches of the same stores in Perth, from what I hear from friends there.
