Sadly I was afraid this was going to happen. I still wonder how the authors could ruin a show with such great potential.

Sadly, I'm not sure that they ruined it. It was so serial that you really had to see every episode - and really pay attention - if you were going to follow it. A couple of people at work missed the first episode, for example, and could never quite get a feel for the show after that. It is that very serial nature that hooked me in but sadly it seems to have hooked many other viewers out.

I know people who couldn't stick with Lost for the same reason. I'm really disappointed. FF was good; and it was really picking up momentum toward the end of the season. :(

Some shows just require a little brain power. I enjoy the challenge, and I think it can be beneficial to form little discussion groups where some members who might have missed something can ask questions and it can help them keep up. I have some friends at work and we talk about Lost and other shows.

I moved away from Lost because of sloppy story-writing and pacing early in S2 but I agree with your comment. There are a couple of us at work who watch FlashForward and we discuss it in detail when we can. I am a hopelessly unobservant viewer so those discussions help me found out aspects of the episode that I missed.

Lost DID falter in S2, but it came back strong and maintained through the end of the series. I admire them for standing up to ABC and ending the show on their own terms. And appreciate ABC for co-operating.

ending the show on their own terms

I particularly like that they didn't go for the endless goodbye that some show go through - instead, they opted for two 16-ep seasons which I thought was also brave, not going for maximum 44 episodes that they could have gone for.
