Back from the tournament, with worse results (on paper) than the last one and yet I know I played much better this time around.
My results were:
Round 1 Mitch's Eldar - fairly even despite those flanking war walkers causing some major havoc. I got knocked off the centre objective in turn 5 and then managed to get back to contest it in Turn 6 for a draw.
Round 2 David W's Dark Angels - very tight game despite Sammael and two bike squads getting into my lines in Turn 2. They were surprisingly ineffective and were all destroyed (other than Sammael) by Turn 4. I held the single objective (unusual mission rules) right until the last shot of Turn 7 when I finally got knocked off it for a loss.
Round 3 Noddy's Orks - yet another tight game where both of decided to abandon our own objectives and try to seize the other's, whilst trying to shoot the other off their own. Sadly, it worked for Noddy but not for me - yes, Orks out-shot Space Marines! *sigh*
Another loss at the bottom of Turn 5 when he finally got the tactical squad that had been camped on his objective for three turns.
Still, a great day and, in terms of my objectives for the day, I think I met #1 (don't do anything stupid) but sadly failed on #2 (win one game).
My W-L-D record:
40K: 34-14-1
Apocalypse: 2-0-1
Planetstrike: 0-1-0
