catalyst2Tonight was 1750 points against Dave's 'Nids.
I stuck with my usual list (plus another 250 points, of course) and did fairly well. The game was Seize Ground with Spearhead Deployment.
I am not going to through it turn by turn because it was the usual story - I shoot, shoot and shoot and it goes well until turn 3 when his genestealers hit my line and eat everything up. Deft movement by me got me close to a draw, only to lose on the last throw of the dice in turn 7! More interesting was the way the four objectives changed possession over the course of the game:
Turn 1: 1-1 with two uncontested DRAW
Turn 2: 1-2 with one uncontested LOSS
Turn 3: 1-1 with one contested, one uncontested DRAW
Turn 4: 1-0 with three contested WIN
Turn 5: 1-0 with three contested WIN
Turn 6: 1-1 with two contested DRAW
Turn 7: 1-2 with one contested LOSS
As always, playing with Dave is educational, fun and thought-provoking.
