Sadly, it didn't win in the other category it was nominated for (Best Television Series - Drama) losing out to Mad Men (is that the second time?)

I didn't know about this either. Apparently he had Hodgkin's lymphoma, which is a treatable cancer. He just finished chemo and he's better now.

It all seems so fast - diagnosis to treatment to recovery. If I hadn't read that comment from saltygoodness24, I would probably have been totally unaware of it.
