Overall, I liked this movie. Impressive special effects, particularly the more panoramic ones as California slid into the ocean, for example. The shots of the arks as they launched were impressive too. The story was good although a little repetitive at times - I mean, how many times can your plane plunge off the edge of the runaway into the abyss, only to come zooming back into the air and then evade a veritable maelstrom of projectiles? Too many times, it appears.

The ending was a bit soft - all live happily ever after and Africa survives relatively intact to become their new home. I wanted to see what happened after the arks got under way - that could have been a very interesting story.

Actor of the movie - Chiwetel Ejiofor whose charisma carried a lot of the story and some of the potentially awkward exposition scenes.

ETA: I just remembered that there is a rumoured 2013 TV series coming - perhaps that will tell the story of the arks and their arrival in Africa.
