A week without pants

This is the first day of a week of holidays for me. And what a start - Geelong just won a thrilling Grand Final. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!

You know that's what I think whenever you say "week without pants". For a while I honestly believed you went around in your underwear. ...You don't, do you?

No, it just came from a misunderstanding years ago at work. After a five week summer holiday, a colleague asked me what I had been doing. Joking, I said "Well, not wearing any pants for the last five weeks!" (meaning not wearing trousers - I had been wearing either jeans or shorts for every day of the holidays). It just became a running joke from then on - on the last day of work, we would say "WOOHOO! No pants for the next X weeks" and then it spread to other staff. It is now the standard farewell any time anybody is going on holiday.
