According to Airlock Alpha, Kevin Reilly said this about S2 of Dollhouse:

"[The mandate is] to keep doing what he's doing. That is really the gift of Joss. Some people can create a good show. Joss was pretty open about those hiccups. I think in the second half of the year, he found the show and started having fun with it. I don't think he was having a lot of fun early on, but he was fantastic to work with all the way through. The fact that he found that, it will be much smoother sailing this year."

Translation - "HANDS OFF!" and that can only be to the better for the series.

Just let Whedon do his job and we're all be happy. Have you seen the 13th episode. I thought it was the best of the season. Loved it.

I've seen almost nothing of Dollhouse past the first three episodes - something really bizarre has happened with our download limit (there's no legal way to watch it here yet) which means I can dl almost nothing - and what I can usually goes on episodes of Burn Notice!
