We recently decided to change all the knobs and handles on all the drawers and cupboards in the house - I think the re-decorating bug hit my partner a little hard there - and bought 12 handles (each with two screws) and 38 knobs, for a total of 62 screws. We got screws for "application for variable depth attachment", me not knowing just what that meant.

I discovered what that meant today - I had to cut 62 screws to the right length using just pliers. Those screws were frakking hard too - consequently I have a deep purple bruise in the centre of my right palm from the pliers and my left thumb is wobbling around just like it does just before it dislocates. Consequently, typing this is painful and I am going to stop ..... now!
