Having read the book last week, it was an interesting experience to see Twilight. The movie does a solid job of bringing the book to life. I thought it looked and sounded pretty damn close to what I thought the book should have. The only jarring note for me was Laurent - he just didn't seem in character for the part. That I find Bella Swan and Edward Cullen two of the most annoying characters ever written is neither here nor there, in that they are very much like their book origins. Given that the entire "Will He? Won't she? Will she? Won't he?" debate dragged on interminably in the book, the movie was better in that it cut that down to a relatively shorter span.

Overall, I thought this was a good adaptation of an ordinary book.
