Finally got up to about 37C today so we went down to the beach - and I made a discovery as I cooked lunch on the barbecue. I tried a new recipe out - garlic parmesan butter. Stick a thick layer on one side of a thick slice of bread. Keep it as cold as you can until you drop it, butter-side down onto a red-hot barbecue plate. Cook until browned and then flip for 15-30 seconds. Do this eleven more times (with 11 more slices - not the same one!) and then serve hot. I made the mistake of walking away to check the steaks and got back to find just one slice left! It was very popular.
