No pants for 27 weeks!

Just in case there is someone on the planet I haven't already bored with my news - today I finished work for the holidays and started my long service leave. I have exactly 189 days until I have to go back to work. WOOHOO!

It's a joke from a long time ago, when I returned to work after the Xmas holidays and said "This is the first time I've worn pants in 4 weeks" and everybody did indeed look at me funny. Of course I should have said "trousers" because I had been wearing shorts or jeans in those intervening weeks. Since then, it has caught on at work so everybody says "No pants for X days" every time they are away from work.

Twenty-seven weeks!! What are you going to do with all that time? Travelling to see your friends in North America, perhaps?? ;)

Even though I keep telling everyone about it, I'm not sure the enormity of 189 frakking days has sunk in for me yet. I have no definite travel plans yet but we are trying to get something together.
