catalyst2 | The Battle for Verdix

I forgot to mention in yesterday's post that I spent most of the day down at PAGS at the competition called Battle for Verdix. Based on a number of scenarios, the amount of preparation put into it showed very quickly in some nicely quirky battles. On the Wings of Fire in particular was amusing as on each player turn, a piece of a crashing ship came hurtling down onto the battlefield with suitably random and destructive results. Similarly, some of the special rules amused me - the What do we do next? rule in particular where the two armies wouldn't even know what the scenario until turn 3 was good one.

In short, it was a very entertaining day which ran smoothly and produced some good results.
