Yesterday I bought the Serenity: Those Left Behind HC. I had no idea just how much better it made the whole story feel compared to the runty little TPB for the same story. The whole story of Earth-That-Was, called A Brief History Of The Universe, circa 2516 AD, written by Joss, is great (and funny) reading. The conceptual art by Joshua Middleton and Leinil Francis Yu is just gorgeous. All 9 variant covers are here too, in full-size, and the Kaylee one just reminds me how damned good Jo Chen is at covers.

It may have been the most expensive thing I bought yesterday but it really was worth it.

I've read it before, but damn it looks better in that hardback. I also don't have to be afraid of it falling apart which is always a bonus. I love the extra stuff too.

BTW - have you joined my firefly_xovers? We're new, but the word is spreading.

I haven't joined it yet, largely because I forgot to go and check it last time it was posted! But I shall go and investigate now.
