No Constantine 2?

Bad news (or good news, depending on your point of view, I guess) about Constantine 2 - it may well be dead before it even gets going according to IESB.

Personally, I liked the first movie a lot and thought that Keanu Reeves was well-cast but I know a lot of fans also thought he was the single worst thing abut the entire movie.

I liked Constantine too. Had no problem with the Americanization of the character... but then I don't read the comics. I thought it was a blast.

Same here. I wasn't part of the "OMG! It's all ruined because he's NOT BLOND!" thing either.

Sometimes, I think fans are their own worst enemy when it comes to movie adaptations. Unless it is a perfect reproduction of the comic book, it is crap in their opinion. Unfortunately, the general public, who are the people we really have to get into the movie theatres to get decent box office numbers, just hear the fanboy/girl "OMG! IT'S CRAP!" part and are chased off.

I'm still hopeful that Watchmen isn't going to suffer the same fate although I did read some whining about the fact, in that the recently released stills from the movie, some fans didn't like the design of Rorschach's raincoat and that the belt should be wider!
