catalyst2*SPOILERS*
Caleb!
1. Foreshadowing on page 4: Not only do we see the S7 tomb scene but it is accompanied by this line: "Saving the world means keeping the status quo. But apocalypses come because the world is trying to change. It has to. That either means chaos, and the morons chaos inevitably employs ...."
2. We never saw Caleb's body after he experienced the nut cutter, just the thunk of the two halves.
3. Caleb already had considerable power in that season so he may have simply gained a few more via The First.
4. One of the more common complaints abut the S7 Big Bad was that it did a lot of talking and very little thumping about - until Caleb turned up, in fact so maybe his earlier appearance this time is a redress for that.
5. When Twilight confronts Satsu and Buffy, he makes numerous reference to his distaste for the expression of emotions, to Buffy's complaining and displays generally misogynistic attitude throughout. It really sounds like Caleb to me.
6. The most telling for me: when Buffy tries the nut-cutter with the scythe again, Twilight says:"I know that move. Slayer." Only 3 people in the world know that move - Angel, Buffy and Caleb. Angel is too busy in HellLA and Twilight is not Buffy so it MUST BE CALEB! HAH! Go back to point 1 on this list - the shot of Caleb is exactly the nut-cutter scene, just to really prompt us in that direction.
Case closed for me - unless Dru's taken to cross-dressing or someone put all the little pieces of The Judge back together again!
