Discoveries again
Feb. 2nd, 2008 10:30 pmWent into Perth today (insert usual train deprivation anecdote because I am still at the "Wheeeeeeeeeee!" stage) and, despite being a thoroughly unpleasant day on the weather front (38C and high humidity), I had fun.
Spent a pleasant while listening to The Sambanistas - who would have thought that drums and whistles could produce such a varied sound?
Spent the next while drooling in the window of Roc Candy until they were going to have to hose down the window if we stood there any longer. Also, I am utterly transfixed by the process of making the stuff - it just seems so labour intensive but it is fascinating.
I then went for my usual walk up to Empire Toys and grabbed AtS: After The Fall #3 (Urru cover) (I wanted to link from IDW's site but I just couldn't find a link there - I find their site quite hard to navigate at times!) and Buffy the Vampire Slayer Omnibus Volume 3. I was happy but better was to follow.
After a lunch of the hottest Thai chilli chicken I think I have ever eaten (I swear that the my nostrils haemorrhaged just sniffing the odours wafting from the plate), I wandered up to Borders just on the off-chance that they had a copy of One Thing or Your Mother but sadly not. However, they did have copy of The Gatekeeper Trilogy Part 2: Ghost Roads, the one and only novel I have missing in the entire BtVS novel series (apart from One Thing or Your Mother, of course) . WOOHOO! The obsessive completist in me breathed a sigh of relief.
I went home a very happy camper not too long after this.
