The blurb first:
"BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER SEASON EIGHT 10

On sale Jan 2
FC, 40 pages - $2.99
Buffy and Willow meet a demon who reveals a dim future, forcing the two to reflect on their past. Meanwhile, back in Scotland, Dawn confides in Xander the deed that led to her mysterious growth spurt. Series creator Joss Whedon writes Buffy Season Eight 10 with veteran Buffy artist Cliff Richards serving as guest penciller."
WOOHOO! Another bonus length issue at 40 pages again! WOOHOO!
ETA: Something just occurred to me, Seeing that "dim future" mentioned, I wonder more and more whether this will tie into Fray. In Mel's future, all the demons and the magic are gone, "driven from the world by a slayer and her mystical allies" (or a similar phrase). There has been criticism of how much and how easily Willow now uses magic but this is a set-up to explore what happens if that goes? What if Willow has no magic at all? Would she fight for that outcome because all the vamps and demons go too or would she resist because of her personal loss?
ETA 2: What if they buy Willow's cooperation by offering to resurrect Tara (because I still think that Joss will do that at some point during S8 or S9)? That would be the only way I could see Willow accepting that.
and the pages:
I love the artwork in these pages - Cliff Richards (no "Wired for Sound" jokes here, no, sir!) - was one of the very few artists on the original comics who could draw the characters in a way that gave the proper BtVS feel to those stories.
Page 1:

Page 2: Great muppety Odin, she does miss the sex, doesn't she!

Page 3: Revisiting the "Anywhere but here" game - I love the continuity. Glad to see that Buffy's moved on from Gavin Rossdale! And I just realised that "Anywhere But Here" is the name of the issue! D'oh!

Page 4: I love the "That's bettNOT BETTER! LESS BETTER!" line. I can just hear Buffy's inflection in that.

Page 5: Xander's actually back to cracking the funny again, I love both the "Ahh! Man down!" and the muffled "I dn't lff you hnymore." lines. Funny! From the look on Dawn's face though in that last frame, she's not happy at something in that clothes box!
