So explain to me again ....
Nov. 22nd, 2006 11:48 pm.... why I am on Dexter's side (and I am, don't get me wrong)?
1. He kills people.
2. He feels joy whilst killing people.
3. He kills in a way that maximises their suffering (not that it would be OK if he did it quick and clean, just less disturbingly wrong).
4. He has information about cases (in particular ITK) that he doesn't surrender which causes further suffering/loss of life
5. He has already killed a large number of people (judging by the number of slides in his trophy box).
6. Every one of his personal relationships is fundamentally dishonest.
7. He is devious, manipulative and deceitful.
8. He considers himself alone to have the right to judge whether a person's life is worth living or not.
Nothing but nothing on that list is positive and yet ....
... every episode I find myself right there, cheering him on.
It troubles me - on another board, someone asked if that made us sociopaths too. I said "No" but ....
