28 Days of Lunch: Day One (9th October)
Nov. 6th, 2007 08:50 am28 days ago I decided to photograph my lunch every day. Being the obsessive that I am, there were some rules (of course).
1. It had to be 28 days consecutively - if I missed even one day, I had to start again. I didn't miss any days - see there are advantages to being obsessive! - so got it done in just 28 days.
2. I had to photograph everything that I had for lunch - drink, dessert etc - with one exception. Unless otherwise pictured, I always have a 750 ml bottle of cold water to drink with lunch.
Things to note:
A) I am obsessed with rice, bananas and Pepsi Max - fortunately not together in the same bowl - but I eat these regularly, some may say with monotonous regularity.
B) Lunch is my main meal for the day. Years of working night shifts has left me unable to eat large meals at night. I usually reheat whatever the family had for dinner the previous night.
C) Breakfast is usually two vegemite sandwiches and a piece of fruit.
D) I usually eat a piece of fruit (almost always an apple or a pear ) on the way from work at night.
E) Dinner is something light - most often a chicken or cheese salad sandwich.
That all said, here's the first lunch.

It's chilli con carne on rice. We lost our original recipe so this was the first try for the new one. When I cooked it the night before, it was very bland but I added 200ml of tomato paste and 50 ml of hot chilli sauce to the pot. It's quite a nice flavour now and moderately hot.
