Oct. 10th, 2007 08:06 pmTotal Sci Fi has a good, if brief, interview with Zack Snyder about progress-to-date on the movie. On the whole it sounds good but this quote puts chill up and down my spine:
Interviewer:Do Warner Bros get it?
Snyder:I don't know that they do exactly, and that's OK because they acknowledge that. We had a round of pretty heavy notes when they were thinking the movie was going to be PG-13. That led to a meeting with me going, "Guys, these notes are weird."
They said The Comedian can't assault Sally. I'm like, "The child molester can't be a child molester?! These are crazy notes because this is from the book!" They were like, "Well, we are concerned about the PG-13." And I said, "What PG-13?"
That was the end of that. Once we all said it wasn't going to be PG-13, I really haven't had any notes since then.
I can't quite decide whether that's a potential disaster averted or just the first in a long series of idiocies! At least Snyder seems to get that this will be a movie for mature audiences!
