Where to begin? This episode (episodes? double-length episode? whatever!) had so much happening so fast that I had to rest after watching it, just to catch my breath.

Everybody got to shine - even Nate who finally learned to shut up and do as he was told to. The death of Cowan so early and so unexpectedly in the episode was ominous - and sure enough, everybody's job went wrong from that point on.

It took a while to get things back on track and it took everybody working together to get it like that. I liked Fi and Sam trying to work together - they don't exactly dislike each other but there is a funny dynamic that goes on between them - and they did quite well until Herrick took out that car with the rocket launcher. The good bit here was that the guy (Sam) got caught and the woman (Fi) had the toughness and wit to escape. Actually, I will confess that it was good to see Fi do some major physical work and she did it well through out.

Mind you, Sam also stepped up too - all the years of soft living in Miami and he can still stand up to some intense interrogation. Michael's rescue operation was classic Michael - ingenuity (the sticky bomb), a direct approach (the fight with Herrick was just brutal) and a good back-up (Fi in action with rifle and 'scope) - which was highly effective as usual.

Also good to see Madeline back again although the helpless mum schtick is wearing thin - she is capable of so much more than that!

Other points
- glad to see the yoghurt come out at least twice - it was a double length episode after all
- "We have plans for you" - my original theory about the burn was that someone needed Michael back in Miami because they had something for him to do, not because he had got too close to anything overseas
- I am convinced that the source of the burn is Fi - but I have no idea why, only that several times she was just a little too keen to find out exactly what Michael knew about the burn (A thought just occurred to me - did Fi know where Michael was meeting Cowan and could she have passed that information on?)

And a final comment:
Next FUCKING Summer? WTF? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - that's just way way too long to wait.

And if you compare that with Madeline's comments about Michael always being gone .....

Good spotting - I may have to go back and watch BN all over again to see if there are any other parallels.
