From the interview with Rebecca Moesta at SlayerLit about Little Things, Rebecca's BtVS novel from 2002, this is Rebecca's idea for a new story:
I've wanted to do one set in the same time-frame [season 5, after Joyce's death], where a fire god creates a volcano in Sunnydale and demands a virgin sacrifice... Dawn, probably. Naturally Buffy and the Scoobies have to save the day.

Sounds like a bundle of laughs (and angst)!

Reading the interview makes me want to go out and find her book(s). Fairy vampires is definitely and original idea!

Little Things is one of the few BtVS novels that feels like an episode might feel. Well worth the read, imho.
