I can get my hay fever cured any time I want to - I just have to infect myself with hookworms.

You know, the runny eyes, itchy roof of my mouth and sneezing don't seem so bad in retrospect!

I understand using leeches again - and even maggots - but they're outside the body. Willingly ingesting hookworms is not something I even want to contemplate - although I suppose I might if I had MS.

Almost everybody's reaction that has read this has been the same - maybe because they are internal and the fear is that the hookworms might get out of control? Leeches and maggots at least stay externally and can always be removed.

Some of those other more serious diseases like Crohn's and MS might indeed alter the equation, I think.
