Movie review: 3-D Toy Story 3

This was a great movie - knowing of its own history but not over-using, a story of some complexity but strong emotional resonance and, above all, a sense of fun. Buzz's "flamenco" mode has to be seen to be believed!There were funny moments, "knowing" moments and poignant moments, all used skillfully in a balanced way.

This was my first 3-D movie - and, although the 3-D effect was impressive and really did leap out at me, I'm not convinced that added one wit to my overall viewing experience this time. I will concede though that there are movies where it may have a great impact.

Sounds like it is all set to go

From this entry in GRRM's LJ, it sounds like HBO have got really serious about the Game of Thrones TV series - from the sounds of it, they must have liked the pilot if they have committed so much in the way of resources and time. Let's hope the TV series is even half as good as the books!
