*Another* remake?

It seems that V will be remade with what sounds like a very different version of the story, acccording to SyFY Portal. I did enjoy the original up to a point but just lost track of what was happening and then never quite caught up with it again.

Not quite sure about the current mania for remakes - have we really told all the stories that can be told?

New PA TV series?

According to SCI FI Wire, NBC has given the greenlight to Day One, the pilot for a series dealing with the story of a group of survivors after some unspecified apocalyptic event. It is one of my favourite sub-genres so I'm intetested, even if it does sound like many similar series but then the joy is always in the particular angle that the series takes - pessimistic/optimistic, solitary/cooperative, violent/constructive, etc. - and what it does with that.
