*Another* remake?

catalyst2It seems that V will be remade with what sounds like a very different version of the story, acccording to SyFY Portal. I did enjoy the original up to a point but just lost track of what was happening and then never quite caught up with it again.
Not quite sure about the current mania for remakes - have we really told all the stories that can be told?
