Yes indeed, Buffy the Anarcho-syndicalist is in print. What will she do with her stylish yet affordable boots when she becomes a proletarian hero? Will she still feel like a tool? .... um a "tool that shaped America" according to Anya, that is.

Got to love those translation skills

Just come back from the dentist after my one week check-up. As I am sitting there with his hands in my mouth (and, quite often, his nurse's as well since he is a believer in "4-handed dentistry", apparently!), we have these great conversations:

I have been watching patiently

I have been watching Veronica Mars S2, waiting for Joss Whedon's guest role. The episode seemed to be a bit later in the season than I thought it was but I persisted. Thought I might check when the episode was going to be on, only to discover that Joss's part was in S2 e6 Rat Saw God and I have just watched S2 e17 Plan B. I knew I missed a couple of episodes, one on the night I relied on somebody to set the VCR going (you know who you are!) and the one on the night of the bushfire when we lost power but, as I read through the season's recaps, I have clearly missed 4 or 5, including Joss'.

Damn and double damn!

Beauty and the Beast

Holy crap! How did I not know about this earlier? They are bringing Beauty and the Beast S1 out on DVD! This is the wonderful Ron Perlman / Linda Hamilton series, not any of that awful Disney crap! Of course, this is the R1 release (and none of the usual Aussie sites I go to have a date for the R4 release) but we may get it yet. Just bloody cool!

I loved this when it was on - Ron Perlman as one is society's throwaways and the angst of the outsider looking in made this one of my favourite series of the 80's. Actually, when I think about it, this may well be THE favourite series of the 80's for me.
