Torchwood - Countrycide

This series frustrates me at times - after the rather flat episode last week, we got something much tighter and harsher this week
Did script order get changed around because this felt like the episode that should have gone after Cyberwoman? All of a sudden people are talking about what happened, the awkward silences that should have been there last week are now there and the guilt over the mistakes that should have been there last week now appears. In fact, that strange moment last week where Jack pats Ianto on the shoulder and it is all a bit uncomfortable but not too bad, now makes perfect sense if it had been after this episode.
The good:
"My friend caught hepatitis from a burger ...." and the differing reactions from the team to the burgers
The build up to the whole confrontation was good - they remembered the basic rule of tension building which not to show the "monster" too early in the piece.
The Harvest - I kept waiting for old fruit punch mouth to show his fangs!
The game of ever-building blunders as they sat around playing the game of "Who did you kiss last?" and Jack's question "Do non-human alien life forms count?"
The bad:
The way the entire team's coherence just fragmented under pressure - no-one watched their partner's back and it was really only luck that saved the day.
The big reveal? "Because it makes me happy!" WTF? Wettest line in the last 50 years!
Overall, though, a vast improvement on the last two episodes with some genuinely scary moments, all a little deflated by the ordinary ending.
