300's opening

catalyst2It looks like 300 has opened well - US$70 million for it opening weekend in the US, the highest opening ever for a March release according to SCI FI Wire. Still not sure when the Australian release is but it will be soon, I would imagine.
Frank Miller is certainly happy with the movie even if the reviewer for the same site (Moviehole) really didn't like the movie! It was interesting to hear that Miller's next movie project is Sin City 2 and that Zach Snyder's next movie is Watchmen! Poor bastard (Snyder, that is) - no matter what he does, he is damned. Alan Moore probably hates it already and there is no way the richness of the full Watchmen story can fit into one 2-hour movie so he's going to have to hack and slash his way through a lot of favourite moments. My first guess - the pirate story-within-a-story bit will bite the dust almost immediately.
