Movie review: The Happening

catalyst2I watched this movie today and was somewhat conflicted during the experience.
It certainly contains some memorable scenes - the drive in to Princeton and the construction site are two very powerful examples and yet it is so ordinary in so many other places. The less said about Zooey Deschanel's acting the better and the blandness of so much of the dialogue is disappointing. Don't get me wrong, I like the central premise (silly as it is) and this could have been great - but it is not, sadly.
