"Yes, fanlings, there is going to be a 2 disc 'Special Edition' released this summer. You know why? 'Cause the 1 disc 'Normal Edition' has sold so well -- so maybe a little self-back-patting is in order for you guys. Way to keep her in the air.

It's too early to be sure what the Special Edition will contain, but here are some things we're going for:

NEW KEY ART.

Cast commentary -- assuming I can get a decent number of them in one room. They're very busy people, I'm happy to say.

The region 4 goodies, obviously.

The Tam Sessions.

KEY NEW ART.

New Yub Yub, and Greedo shoots first. So does that kid outside the trading station, the pilot who destroyed Haven, and Kaylee. And Richard Dreyfuss goes INSIDE the mothership.

KEW RAT YEN.

An alternate ending, if you turn it off early.

Proof of the existence of a benevolent higher power -- uh, I mean, new key art.

Mice.


And honestly, what more do you want? Don't answer that, I already know and it's unseemly. But I'm pretty excited here. Back to work, -j.

Hey nixygirl, this means the WHOLE WORLD now gets to see your "question" at the Sydney screening. You really are on that path to fame and fortune now!

Okay, now I'm really looking for a punctuation mark more expressive and louder than an exclamation mark!! I hope for new cover art, along with all the goodies they can jam onto a disk!!

Because I've already got the R4 2-disc release, I'm conflicted. If the only thing is the new art work (and I quite liked the R4 artwork (http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/783862) as opposed to the R1 stuff (http://www.amazon.com/Serenity-Full-Screen-Morena-Baccarin/dp/B000BW7QX6/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/104-3619193-9261538?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1172827854&sr=1-3) which was just awful but did, admittedly lead to the hilarious "Llama-on-the-cover" thread at Whedonesque!) and the cast commentary then I don't know if I will buy it.

I've watched the R4 extras and would love to have them myself. I also have the R.Tam sessions on my computer but would buy another copy if they came with it. Plus a cast commentary - shiny! I'm sure they're going to have to put more than just new cover art - and my impression was that that wasn't a fact, just something everyone, including Joss, wants.

But if all they put on the new version is what's already on the R4, there isn't much point for people with the R4 version to buy it - especially since your artwork was much better than what we had in North America.

The llama thread - and 11th Hour's llama artwork - were great and, of course, the Goners board has embraced the llama as our mascot and we expect Joss to insert it somewhere in the movie! :D.

BTW, I like !EXCL! Let's see if it catches on. :D
