According to CraveOnline, TWD has gained Glen Mazzarra as an executive producer and will, contrary to earlier rumours, have 5 writers on staff rather than use free-lancers only. I hope the greater number of episodes in S2 means we'll get a bit more character development during the season.

Although it's not startling or revealing, there's an interesting video at Blastr

and it's behind the cut too. )

The Walking Dead S1 has at least got listed on EzyDVD's site, even if it's still just in the "Future Release" category. This is progress (no matter how feeble).

According to AMC's Walking Dead blog, the date is 8th March 2011. No sign of an R4 date on any of the sites I checked out.

This series clearly sets itself no boundaries of any kind - the power of some of the events in this volume is shocking. Some of the events are so dark that I almost guarantee that, if the TV series follows roughly the same storylines, there is no way on earth that it can be shown on TV.

As always, I finish with the recommendation that you will not be disappointed by this book - powerful, dark and moving writing.

I really am out of words to describe this series - there are so many moments in here that I don't know where to begin. I'm not going to because to do so would just be spoiler after spoiler. Suffice it to say that you will not be disappointed by this volume!

On an impulse, I dived into Cosmic Comics during my lunch hour today and grabbed both of these books. Guess it's going to be another zombie-themed weekend!

Just finished reading the second of the books I bought on Friday - holy crap, this series just keeps on improving. Now I really know the meaning of the phrase "No character is safe"!

I'm not sure that I can read Book 5 - I'm going to run out of superlatives soon!

Just finished reading this - and it keeps to the very high standard of the first two. The (avoiding spoilers by euphemism here) "interactions" between Michonne and the Governor and then between the Governor and Michonne are almost too intense to bear - so very well done without lapsing into cliche.

I finally got the call from Cosmic Comics to say that both of these books were in today so I shot down after work and grabbed both of them. I know what I'll be reading this weekend.

Not only did AMC just confirm that TWD is getting a second season (not that there was much doubt of that with the ratings being so good) but they also confirmed that it will be for 13 episodes. Now that is good news!

According to TV Shows on DVD, advance orders are already going out for this - bodes well for an early release date for R1 at any rate, just have to wonder about R4 availability as usual.

I've yet to see a bad review for the episode - two typical examples of what I'm seeing are Arrow in the Head (sample: ..... "The Walking Dead" is treated with sincerity ... it doesn't pander to any sort of pop-culture bulls*it, there's no sad attempt at irony or any kind of snarky sarcasm ... there's no artificial sense of trying to be cool or hip ... the type you generally see on TV. No, this plays more like a 70-ish minute feature film ... the size and scope, the lavish production, Darabont's deliberate camera work ... all of it drive toward something truly special) and CraveOnline (sample: Regardless, the series premiere of "The Walking Dead" was incredibly strong and also among the best this fall. If the rest of the series is this good, then the dead are going to walk the Earth for several seasons.)

I really hope the series does well and we get at least a couple of seasons out of this!

ETA: another positive review at RabidDoll.

Just finished reading the final quarter of The Walking Dead Book Two HC - that final line is just stunning! It turns the entire series-to-date on its head. Genius!

Just bought this book this afternoon and I am already about about 75% of the way through it. Good grief, this story doesn't pull any punches - without giving any spoilers away, it took my breath away about ten times already! Damn good writing!

Total SciFi has news that the comic series will be converted into a trilogy of novels. All good and well (and I'll probably buy them) but all of this relies on the TV series doing well - I guess we'll know the answer to do that about 10:05pm on 31st October!

I bought this last week and finished reading for the second time today. I liked this a lot

and here's why. )

According to Spinoff Online, it looks very likely that The Walking Dead S2 has already been approved, and indeed, may extend to 13 episodes - and all of this before S1 even airs!
