Total for the day was 1699 - mind you, the tug of the re-write is very hard. *must resist*

I would also have written a bit more but for the fact that my "ten minute eyelid maintenance session" turned into a 90 minute nap!

Good day writing today - flowed well and it was very quiet at work *cough*. Got 1981 words out for a five day total of 7836, only 499 words behind target. I am happy with what I have written on the whole - it even makes sense which is a bonus for me!

Only 978 words today - but I had to stop writing because my head was just pounding. Will be better tomorrow. The good side is that the story has continued to flow even after I exhausted my notes.

Managed another 1797 words today which was very nice but also worrying because I seem to have run out of useful notes. Damn, now I'll have to start thinking or something!

Yesterday's notes came in hand quite wonderfully today. Spent a very pleasant few hours sitting outside under the pergola tying away on the laptop. I managed 2117 words, well ahead of the daily target (YAY!) but still about 900 short (BOO!) of the cumulative total due to yesterday's slow start. Mind you, I only used about half of the notes so hopefully tomorrow's total will be a good one too.

Considering all the scurrying around that I had to do today - and the amount of preparation I also had to do, a word count of 963 makes me very happy. I think I wrote another 1500 in notes. That means I should be able to put on a real burn tomorrow once I've gone to the AGM at 11am.

1339 words for a total of *drum roll* 50005 words!

WOOHOO!

I say again

WOOHOO!

Done! Finished! No more 4am starts! Fewer exclamation points.
catalyst2: (Default)
1791 words today for a total of 48666 words.

WOOHOO!

The story did take a strange twist today but still makes sense - to me at any rate. If I keep going at this rate, I might finish tomorrow.

WOOHOO!

1776 words for a total of 46875 words.

WOOHOO!

And this other story is just driving me crazy, waiting to be written.
catalyst2: (Default)
Not one word written today so the total remains at 45099 words.

WOOHOO!

BUT I did watch the first ten episodes of BSG S3 (as my reward for getting to 45 000). What a run of episodes! Just took my breath away. Just makes me appreciate how good that series' writers are - including Jane Espenson!

WOOHOO!

I got up at 4am (on a Saturday, for frak's sake - see how subtly I slid that BSG reference in?) to try for my target of 45 000. I wrote all day (and again had my lunch made for me and served to me at the laptop, courtesy of spawn #1) and wrote 3717 words for a total of 45 099.

WOOHOO!

BSG S3 episodes 1-10, here I come!

WOOHOO!
catalyst2: (Default)
Another 2666 words for a total of of 41382.

WOOHOO!

I am starting to be far too familiar with the world at 4am, I have decided! The pain of yesterday is reduced - I have changed the desk that the laptop is on and my wrist position is much more comfortable. I would have written more words but I had stop and write about 500 words in outline for another completely unrelated story that would just not get out of my head.

WOOHOO!

The BSG S3 box set beckons with its alluring cover so if I can get to 45 000 by the end of tomorrow, I am going to take Sunday off and watch the first half of S3 - but I must stick to that target!
catalyst2: (Default)
A whopping 3172 words today for a total of 38716.

WOOHOO!

Mind you that took another 4am start and my right wrist feels like someone stood on it! Having said that, being 2000 words ahead of target at this point is a sheer joy! If I try for another marathon this weekend, I might be damn nearly finished. I think that deserves another cheer.

WOOHOO!

Only 1017 words today - and that only because of a 4 am start this morning! Total is now 35544. Still about 500 words ahead of target so I'm happy. It would have been nice to have a slightly bigger buffer at this late stage of the writing but the story's still flowing so I'm happy.

WOOHOO!
catalyst2: (Default)
3001 words for a total of 34527.

WOOHOO!

I'm even 1187 ahead of target! Mind you, I do have to go to an AGM tonight as treasurer for the football club. Those meetings usually run for at least three hours so I probably won't get so much writing tonight.
catalyst2: (Default)
Today's count was 2899 words for a total of 31526.

WOOHOO!

Now only 147 behind target and still more plot revealing itself!

Another WOOHOO!
catalyst2: (Default)
Today was marathon day. Thanks to lunch made for me and delivered to me at the PC and generally being undisturbed by anything other than writing, I managed 2941 words for a total of 28627.

That still makes me 1379 behind target but I am not too worried because I also did a considerable amount of plotting which should mean the writing for the next few days could largely be a matter of filling in the gaps and expanding out some sketched-in scenes.

WOOHOO!
catalyst2: (Default)
999 words for a total of 25686.

WOOHOO! Half way there - and only two days late!

Although the count is low, it is not too bad considering that I spent most of today shopping in Perth.

Tomorrow is marathon day!

*nods head fervently*
catalyst2: (Default)
Back in the groove - 1173 words for a total of 24687.

WOOHOO!

I was hoping to be past 25 000 at this point, given that this is half way through but I'm happy that these characters keep finding things to do. They are even taking the story in the direction I wanted it to go overall - I just didn't expect it to be them doing it!

This weekend may require a marathon catchup session - or possibly a trip to Perth to buy the BtVS S8 Long Way Home TPB. Hell, who am I kidding, the TPB wins out every time! Sunday for the catchup, then. Heaven help me but I may even commit some plot points to paper. *shock* Do I even have paper any more?

The day's writing total is ZERO!

Damn - got home last at 6.30, sat down and then woke up at about 10pm. I guess that's my body's way of getting the sleep it wanted regardless of what I had planned.

So the grand total remains at 23514 words.

To my body's credit, it was the right thing to do because I do feel a whole lot better this morning than I have felt for the last week or so.
