Profound, profane or pedestrian

The news about FlashForward alarms me every time I read it - to replace Goyer, there's three new showrunners in and the network order is down from 25 to 22, according to Total Sci-Fi. I don't get the bad buzz around it - wasn't it the second most popular programme in its timeslot?

The delay in FlashForward's return next year is a good thing according to Robert J. Sawyer, the author of the book the series is based on. He's trying to put a positive spin on it, saying that it will avoid most of the preemptions by starting later but I'm still not quite convinced .....

I know these things are increasingly common but I still get a little nervous any time a series - in this case FlashForward - shuts down production mid-season. I know it says that it is pre-planned but it still gives that window of opportunity for some cancellation-crazed executive to pounce (or at least to start interfering in the writing process). Let's hope that is one of those "good" breaks and that FlashForward does indeed come back refreshed and renewed.

Just for a change, I was impressed by this episode.

My favourite new series, FlashForward, just got an order for a full season according to The Live Feed.

I have just watched the second episode in this series and I think I like it even more after this one.

I've just watched the first episode of this new series and liked it considerably. I like the diversity of effects that the FF had on everyone and the complete bewilderment that people are experiencing so far. It's messy and unexplained and yet there are strong hints and links already appearing. Nicely balanced so far! I want to see more.
